We are pleased to announce that thanks to funding from The National Lottery Awards for All grant we will be running a two part project across the River Rea in Stirchley in 2025-2026.

Woodland Management
We have funding for a set number of sessions for our woodland management team to clean up and tidy the recent storm damage. Over the next year they will regularly be in the area fixing fallen tree damage, floor debris, unsafe smaller trees and general pathway clearance so that the river walk stays accessible. We will open up regular weekly sessions for volunteers to also participate and help with the general maintenance of the site that is safe to do so.
Target areas:
- Keeping benches clear
- Pushing bramble back from the woodland pathway
- Clearing fallen trees on pathways
- Clearing built up litter and reporting fly tipping
- General management and upkeep of smaller trees
Kids Summer Activities
The second part of our project will involve a range of kids activities in the summer holidays across our three major sites: Ten Acres (Middle Field), Hazelwell (Hazelwell Field), and Beilby (Harvest Green). These will be bushcraft and team building games designed to get kids active, thinking, problem solving and build community cohesion.
Stay tuned as we plan and develop these sessions we will let you know more and provide dates and booking here.
