Sunday brought together our regular monthly volunteer crew for what turned into an almighty litter pick! This group has built a bit of a reputation for uncovering the weird and wonderful, and this month did not disappoint.
By the end of the session, we had filled over 20 bags of rubbish — plus a printer, a suitcase, and even a life ring! You never quite know what you’re going to find, but every piece of litter removed makes a visible difference to the landscape and the wildlife that calls it home.
Beyond the numbers, it’s the sense of teamwork and shared purpose that makes these mornings special. There’s always plenty of laughter, a bit of friendly competition over the strangest find, and that satisfying feeling of walking away knowing you’ve made a real impact.
A massive thank you to everyone who turned up and gave their time — whether you picked up a bag, helped sort recyclables, or shared a well-earned biscuit at the end.
