We’ve absolutely loved teaming up with our friends at Fruit & Nut Village for a recent day of hands-on community work here in Stirchley.
Collaborating locally is something we really value. It’s not just about the end result, but about bringing people together, sharing knowledge, and building something meaningful as a collective. By working side by side with like-minded groups, we’re able to support one another and contribute to greener, more connected neighbourhood spaces that everyone can enjoy.
This latest collaboration saw us come together to plant several new fruit trees on Harvest Close, just off Fordhouse Lane. The space, now named Harvest Green Orchard, sits alongside the River Rea and will grow into a thriving, productive green space for the community in the years to come.
The day itself was a real team effort. Volunteers and organisers worked seamlessly together, getting stuck into every part of the process — from digging and planting to post-driving, caging, tying, and carefully watering each young tree. It was one of those days where everyone found their role, and the work just flowed. Of course, no community day would be complete without a well-earned coffee break to keep spirits high and energy levels up.
What stood out most was the shared sense of purpose. Projects like this remind us how much can be achieved when people come together with a common goal and a willingness to get involved. The orchard is more than just a collection of fruit trees — it’s a symbol of collaboration, care, and long-term investment in our local environment.
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who gave their time and energy to make this happen. Whether you were digging holes, carrying supplies, or simply cheering things along, it all made a difference. We truly couldn’t have done it without you.
Collaborations like this are what make Stirchley such a special place, and we’re excited to see Harvest Green Orchard grow and flourish as part of the community.
