A Busy Weekend of Community Action!

What a weekend it’s been! Our volunteers have been out in force, rolling up their sleeves and making a real difference in our local green spaces.

Saturday at Top Meadow Garden
We started the weekend at Top Meadow Garden in Ten Acres. This beautiful spot is a little gem, but like many green spaces it needs regular care to thrive. Our team spent the morning tackling weeds and clearing away bramble that had crept across paths and garden beds. It was hard work, but the results were instantly visible—more light and space for the plants that belong there, and a tidier, more welcoming place for visitors to enjoy.

Sunday at Hazelwell Park
On Sunday afternoon, we turned our attention to Hazelwell Park. This time the focus was on safety as well as beauty. We filled in several holes across the field to make it safer for families, children, and anyone enjoying a walk or a game. We also removed a pile of fly-tipped felting that had been left for years, a lingering eyesore that is now finally gone. It was incredibly satisfying to see the space looking cleaner and cared for.

The Power of Volunteers
None of this would have been possible without our amazing volunteers. Time and again, they show up with energy, strength, and a willingness to get stuck in—whether it’s pulling brambles, filling holes, or lifting heavy waste. It’s that spirit of community that transforms our parks and gardens into safe, welcoming places for everyone.

We’re so grateful for every single person who gave their time and effort this weekend. 💪💪 Your hard work makes a huge difference—not just in the way these spaces look, but in how they’re used and loved by the community.

If you’d like to get involved, keep an eye out for our next volunteer sessions. Together, we can continue to protect, improve, and celebrate our local green spaces. 🌱
