Lost Orchard Clearing Day

Thanks to money from Tesco we were able to do a one off orchard clearing day with our woodland manageemnt lead. The orchard was a bit overgrown again and just needed some light management keeping the bramble under check to allow all the trees we planted to flourish. We checked on the saplings and new plantings and can confirm most have survived! Many already are full of fruits coming in so it’s a brilliant sign. The restored meadowsweet is also thriving here where it was once completely eradicated by neglect.

Fruit trees in the Lost Orchard

  • Pershore plums (both purple and yellow)
