Last week, our dedicated volunteers were once again hard at work across the Rea Valley, helping to maintain and improve the local pathways for everyone to enjoy.
With the recent spell of hot and sunny weather, conditions were certainly warm, but spirits remained high throughout the day. Volunteers came together to clear overgrown sections of pathways, remove obstacles, and ensure routes remained safe, accessible, and welcoming for walkers, cyclists, families, and visitors using the valley’s beautiful green spaces.
Thanks to the fantastic teamwork and enthusiasm of everyone involved, the tasks were quickly completed and there was still plenty of time to enjoy the sunshine and good company. Sessions like these are not only important for maintaining the local environment, but they are also a great opportunity for people to get outdoors, meet others, and make a positive difference in the community.
The continued support from volunteers plays a huge role in helping to care for the Rea Valley and keep these valuable public spaces open and enjoyable for all.
If you would like to get involved, we would love to welcome you along. No previous experience is needed — just bring suitable outdoor clothing and a willingness to help.
Our volunteer sessions take place every Friday from 10am until 2pm, meeting at the Ten Acres noticeboard on Cartland Road.
New volunteers are always welcome, and whether you can join regularly or just occasionally, every helping hand makes a real difference.
