🌞 Tuesday’s Kids Summer Fun Day – Hazelwell Park

This week’s Kids Summer Fun Day in Hazelwell Park was another fantastic success – and once again, we were blessed with good weather. It might have been a touch on the hot side (we’re beginning to see a pattern here!), but with plenty of shady spots and regular water breaks, everyone stayed safe, cool, and ready for fun.

The turnout was brilliant, with familiar faces returning and new families joining in. There’s something special about seeing the park fill with the sound of laughter, chatter, and the occasional cheer as someone scores a win in a game.

We kept the activities fresh but continued with the classics the kids are really responding to:

  • French Croquet – A slightly quirky twist on a traditional lawn game, full of friendly competition and tactical thinking.
  • Archery – Always a hit, giving the children a chance to test their aim and concentration.
  • Storytelling Games – Imagination took centre stage as kids spun tales together, building on each other’s ideas in hilarious and heartwarming ways.

Midday, we took a well-earned break for lunch, which was a healthy and colourful spread: fresh tomatoes, crisp bell peppers, juicy apple slices, and a Soreen loaf bar, paired with a banana and mango fruit bar. To wash it all down, there was the ever-popular Fruit Shoot – a clear favourite among the kids.

By the end of the afternoon, there were tired legs, happy faces, and a lot of talk about “next week.” It’s amazing how quickly these Tuesdays have become a highlight of the summer for so many.

Thank you to everyone who came along, joined in, and helped make the day such a joy. See you next week – and fingers crossed the sun keeps shining (but maybe just a little cooler, please!).
