We are currently opening up our volunteering opportunities for the Ten Acres woodland with the Friends of Ten Acres & Sustainable Life Voluntary Organisation. We have the following needs right now:
- Litter picking volunteers – OPEN
Organised once a month roughly, up to 4 people at a time. Tools, bin bags, masks and sanitiser provided.

Every week on a Thursday and a Friday, maximum 4 at a time. Tools, masks and sanitiser provided. Hard work required inlcuding heavy lifting at present. Lighter jobs are available – just let us know if you can’t do heavier stuff. - Conservation logging and management – ALWAYS OPEN
Using the inaturalist app to photograph and log GPS location of plants and animals on site so we can get a better picture of the area and how it’s diversity is changing. - Social Media Assistant – OPEN
Weekly updates of photographs of the ten acres site, highlights and activities as and when shared to the FoTA instagram/twitter/facebook to supplement our own updates. Positive, wellbeing and nature focused updates (brief will be provided).

Due to the pandemic we are limiting the number of volunteers we are working with on site. We will relax these rules as lockdown restrictions ease but feel that ensuring the safety of our staff and volunteers is paramount and are considering impact and management ability on a job by job basis.
