This week at Ten Acres Woodland, we embraced the beautiful summer weather with a few changes to our usual woodland gathering. With temperatures soaring, we decided to give the fire a well-earned rest and instead focused on keeping everyone cool and comfortable.
To make the most of the woodland setting, we put up a large tarp beneath the canopy, creating a welcome patch of extra shade where we could gather together. Instead of the usual hot drinks, the urn was filled with ice and refreshing cold water—just what everyone needed on such a warm day.
Our menu reflected the season perfectly. We enjoyed a relaxed picnic-style lunch with plenty of fresh, summery food, including crisp salads, pastrami, Serrano ham, crusty bread served with olive oil and homemade chimichurri, juicy grapes, sweet oranges, honeydew melon, and plenty more delicious bites to share. It was simple, fresh, and exactly what the weather called for.
To make sure everyone stayed safe and comfortable in the heat, we kept the session a little shorter than usual. Even so, it was a lovely opportunity to catch up, enjoy good food, and appreciate the peace and tranquillity of the woodland. The natural shade of the trees reminded us just how valuable these green spaces are during the warmer months.
If you’d like to spend time outdoors, meet friendly faces, and enjoy good company in a beautiful woodland setting, we’d love you to join us.
Our woodland gatherings take place every Thursday from 10am to 2pm at Ten Acres Woodland. Whether it’s around the fire in cooler weather or under the shade of the trees in summer, there’s always a warm welcome waiting for you.
