Lamium Purpureum, common name Purple Deadnettle.
Family Lamium
Status Commonly Widespread grass and meadow edge plant.
Details A member of the mint family this plant resembles nettles at first glance but with a softer (and sting free) design and clear orchid like purple flowers. As the plant matures the top most leaves can adopt a purple tinge. Often mixed up with Henbit by mistake.
Ten Acres Habitation
Found along the Cartland Road entrance to the woodland conservation area, on the grass verge running alongside cartland road and along the park way path across the whole Ten Acres site in any area that is predominantly grass.
